Living Connected is a not-for profit community enterprise providing services for the social well-being of elders helping them to remain independent, connected and engaged through digital inclusion. It is a graduate of the iAccelerate business incubator at the Innovation Campus of the University of Wollongong, NSW. We partner with aged care facilities and local organisations to serve communities from Bulli to Bega to Bundanoon in Southern NSW. The primary purpose of Living Connected is to provide an integrated assistance program of digital mentoring for elders, i.e. older citizens, who are becoming increasingly isolated as they age. Whereas younger people in similar circumstances would use digital technology to stay connected and productive, fewer of our elders can do so. Our approach is based on several years’ research of Computer Kiosks in aged care facilities. We aim to help elders use digital devices for whatever makes life more enriching and enjoyable for them.
