Welcome to 2021! Throughout 2020, the Living Connected team has worked hard to deliver our digital mentoring services to seniors in the Illawarra and South Coast regions. Thanks to all those who have partnered with us and have attended online sessions via Zoom, as well as those who have attended our in-person events in the second half of 2020. We are pleased to announce that this hybrid model of delivery will continue into the future as we all navigate digital mentoring, while being COVID-safe.

Seniors Festival 2021: During this year’s NSW Seniors Festival taking place from 13-24 April 2021, Living Connected will be hosting events in the Wollongong City Council and Shellharbour City Council areas. More information about these even
ts will be released in the coming weeks.
Group Zoom Sessions: Originally scheduled as replacements for weekly Group Drop-In sessions across our network, Living Connected will continue Zoom help sessions twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays. This service has helped keep elders stay connected during lockdowns. We are quite proud of how popular and helpful this has been.
Home Visits: Our home visit program will be continuing, after being resumed late last year following lockdown. LC volunteers can assist with setting up computers and laptops (including Mac and PC systems) smartphones and tablets (Apple and Android) and assist with their ongoing use. Call us on 0409 753 808, or email us at email@example.com to arrange a home visit.
Drop-in Group Sessions: Now with restrictions easing in New South Wales, we will be ramping up our free drop-in sessions at community venues across the Illawarra and South Coast. Due to ongoing restrictions, we may not yet be holding sessions at aged care facilities but we will continue to explore the possibility. We also aim to expand these sessions into new areas, including in the NSW Southern Highlands.
Young Mentors: In 2020 we completed three offerings of our Young Mentors Program, which delivers online mentoring training to high school students. In 2021 we will be expanding this service to train mentors of all ages in regional and rural areas.
